【In the Name of Materials, Guarding the Light of Tradition】Low-Density Gray Silica Base Panels Support the Beijing Yongding Tower Project National-level Green Design Product Low-density gray silicon-based substrate
Project Introduction
Yongding Tower in Beijing, as a new landmark building in Mentougou District. It is said that the design inspiration of Yongding Tower comes from the Yellow Crane Tower, which is known as one of the "Three Famous Towers in the South of the Yangtze River". The overall architectural design is majestic yet exquisite, while upholding China's unique ancient architectural style and carrying profound historical memories. However, the wooden ceiling structure, which has gone through a century of wind and rain, is facing problems such as aging, fire hazards, and fading decorations. How to improve safety and artistry while protecting the original appearance of ancient buildings? The application of Ocean Willy's low-density gray silicon baseboard provides an innovative solution to this problem, and with its A1-class fire resistance and surface decorability, it demonstrates the unique value of modern building materials in the renovation of ancient buildings. Project Challenges The renovation of the ceiling of Yongding Tower must meet three core needs: 1. Safety: The wooden structure has a low fire resistance rating and must comply with the strict fire protection standards for ancient buildings; 2. Aesthetics: Traditional hand-painted colorful paintings need to rely on stable substrates to ensure that the patterns are long-lasting and do not fade; 3. Compatibility: New materials need to be lightweight and easy to install to avoid damage to the original structure. Traditional gypsum boards and wooden boards are difficult to meet the needs due to problems such as flammability, susceptibility to moisture, and insufficient load-bearing capacity, so there is an urgent need for an innovative material that combines functionality and adaptability. Project Details Project Name: Beijing Yongding Tower Ancient Architecture Project Applied Product: Low-density Gray Silica Base Board Used Thickness: 9mm thick Application Part: Ceiling Project Highlights: Due to the failure to meet the requirements of fire acceptance, Yuanyang Weili low-density gray silica base board helped the project pass the fire acceptance, making the building fireproof and non-combustible. Product Application Highlights: By restoring the traditional wooden ceiling on a one-to-one scale, including the flat and grid parts as well as the color craftsmanship and patterns, it has achieved the ceiling application advantages of integrating beauty, fire resistance, fire endurance, moisture resistance and durability.
Application Advantages 1. A1 Class Fire Resistance: Putting "Invisible Armor" on Ancient Buildings. Yuanyang Weili low-density gray silicon base panels have passed the national A1 class fire resistance certification. The 9mm panels have a fire resistance rating of 2 hours, are non-combustible when exposed to open flames, and produce no smoke or toxins, perfectly addressing the fire safety challenges of the wooden structures in ancient buildings. The renovated ceiling of Yongding Tower not only passed the fire safety inspection but also minimized the fire risk, building a solid safety defense for cultural heritage. 2. Surface decorativeness: Restoring the "canvas gene" of traditional art. The surface of the board has been treated with special craftsmanship, featuring excellent adhesion and flatness, allowing direct hand-painting with traditional mineral pigments. The restoration team accurately replicated the "auspicious clouds and cranes" colored paintings on the base board. The colors have high saturation, are resistant to cracking and peeling, and remain as bright as new despite seasonal changes in temperature and humidity, achieving a seamless integration of "original craftsmanship and new materials". 3. Lightweight and high-strength: A "friendly partner" for ancient building structures
The application of Yuanyang Weili low-density gray silicon-based panels in this project has endowed ancient buildings with vitality that grows with the times: Yuanyang Weili , through A1-class fire resistance and innovations in surface decoration, has redefined the standards for materials used in the restoration of ancient buildings and provided the industry with a replicable protection path. In the future, with the integration of more technological materials, we are expected to build a new ecosystem for cultural heritage protection that is safer, more durable, and closer to tradition. |
